We are looking for a ServiceNow JavaScript Developer to do creative and fast work for a company that is developing new capabilities on the ServiceNow platform. This role is to develop a fully functional proof of concept.

 

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES​​

• Minimum 4+ years experience as a ServiceNow system administrator 

• JavaScript, HTML5, and CSS experience 

• Creating custom, general use modules and components which extend the elements and modules of core ServiceNow

• Experience with all levels of operation available to the front-end, such as from creating XHRs in vanilla JS to using a custom wrapper around $resource

• Thorough understanding of the responsibilities of the platform, database, API, caching layer, proxies, and other web services used in the system

• Experience developing and configuring ServiceNow Workspaces, Portals, ITSM, Knowledge Base and SPM

• Experience with Git and Github for code repositories

• Experience working from written requirements

• Experience developing and refining requirements

• Experience writing functional and technical specifications documentation and technical feasibility analysis for ServiceNow functionality

• Experience developing scoped applications in ServiceNow

• Experience resolving questions by reaching out to ServiceNow Developer community

• Experience with agile methodologies

• Proactive and self directed

• Work in a dynamic agile environment 

• Be the primary developer for a Proof of Concept prototype on the ServiceNow platform

• Develop initial concepts to help refine requirements and functionality

• Provide weekly demos of progress

• Produce a working prototype with a complete user interface

• Develop modules and components and integrate them together into a functional Proof of Concept (POC)

In order to learn more about your skills we have designed this test, the objective of this test is to learn more about your developing skills using the required technologies. 

 

Create a Database on ServiceNow that extends the default “Task” database, add 3 new columns for a custom ID, text and title.

 

Add some records to the new database, using the 3 columns that you added.

 

Build a small ServiceNow application using ServiceNow as an API to pull the information that you will be using to populate a UI build using JavaScript and Bootstrap, the app should have 2 views :

Rating methodology: 

We are expecting you to describe and demo the app, the database and the code (over a shared screen session), and to tell us how/why you decided to use the different tools on your application. We are expecting you to extensively use ServiceNow as an API for the app back end, and JavaScript for the frontend. The UI should be visually engaging (colors, logo/image) and have nice layout (columns, etc).

 

We consider a plus the following:

• Storing the application on Github (please provide a link or invite us to the repo).

• Designing more complex views than the ones provided, be creative!

• Any detail or technique that you want to add and feel comfortable to explain to us.
