I fell in love with natural perfume decades ago after reading Essence and Alchemy by Mandy Aftel. I love to make natural perfumes, lotions, creams and even household cleaning products from scratch with all natural ingredients and a selection of over 50 different essential oils. It's a creative, inspiring, luxurious, scentual hobby.
Other inspiring books are The Emperor of Scent, Chandler Burr, with an etheric, mystical description the scent of a mango grove in Egypt, and The Science of Scent, by Luca Turin, a professional perfumer with a radical theory of how scent works.
